spinning yarns oral history project

Spinning Yarns, Bridport Museum Trust’s oral history project has been made possible by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Its aim is to record the recollections of local people in order to create a unique archive of recordings about Bridport, the coast and the surrounding villages. The Bridport area was famous for its rope and net manufacture. We are hoping to record accounts of people whose work was connected with this important industry, as well as those who were involved with other local trades and activities. We want to record accounts of as many different people and different lives as we can, so that the archive will contain a rich and varied picture of life in and around Bridport.

Thank you to everyone taking part
